Party Honoring 3GT Founder
AJ Baker
Due to unforeseen circumstances, AJ will not be able to participate in the celebration in her honor. Therefore we will be postponing the party on March 18th honoring AJ and all the successes of the first 10 years of 3GT. We'll announce new time to celebrate when we can.
Our shows on Saturday will go ahead: an in-development performance of Burning Wild by Aviva Arts at 2pm, as well as the closing night of 'Tasha by Cat Brooks at 7:30pm that night. And we can't wait to see you at one or both of these performances!
Though we'll miss celebrating with you on the 18th, there are still lots of ways you can support AJ's vision for more women playwrights! We have already raised $40,000 for the AJ Baker Founder's Fellowship, and we want to match that amount! You can make a donation here.
This new Founder's Fellowship honors AJ's legacy as a patron of the slow, hard, but incredibly important script development process for women playwrights. Each year (depending on funding), we will award several 3GT playwrights with 20 hour-long development workshops to dive deep into their script with the support of their dramaturg, director, and cast! These connections and costs are daunting and prohibitive for emerging playwrights, especially women over 40, queer and trans artists, and Black, Indigenous, and Latinx artists.
Thank you for helping us and supporting AJ Baker in putting women's work on stage, where it belongs!
