Seen and Heard Panel, Open Mic and Celebratory Reception

What does it mean to be Seen and Heard as an emerging women+ writer over age 40 in 2025?

This evening's panel is hosted by KALW and is a space to hear from 3GT writers and collaborators about their experiences as ‘older’ emerging playwrights. What are the barriers they face? What do they need and want? What does being part of the 3GT community mean to them?

Playwrights Panel

elaine magree, Playwright, AC / DC

Elaine Magree is a Theatre Maker: director, writer, performer, and teacher. She is métis (French/Indigenous) with ancestors from three continents.

She was the director of The Artist in Residence Program and Co-Director of The New Music Theatre Project at The Z Space, is a recipient of The Sui Generis Award and a two time nominee for Theatre Bay Area’s Best Solo Show award. She was a Regent’s Fellow at UC Davis where she received an MFA in Directing. She is currently a Brady Fellow at Three Girls Theatre where her play AC/DC is in development.

Her company, The Whole Works, toured the west coast including The People’s Theatre Festival and The National Women’s Theatre Festival. Elaine’s work has also been seen at The Magic Theatre (Michael McClure), The California Shakespeare Festival, Theatre Artaud (Lauren Elder’s Surrender) The Marsh, The 54th St. Theatre NYC, Brava, and at festivals and venues across the country. She served as adjunct faculty at San Francisco City College and Solano College. She taught theatre classes for youth at The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts and for women in Sacramento County jails and in recovery centers and shelters.

Kristy Lin Billuni, Playwright, The Trees

Kristy Lin Billuni writes plays about queer triumph and proud outcasts. With roots in sex work, queer activism, and sex ed, she has earned her living for more than twenty years as The Sexy Grammarian, teacher of bold, free, turned-on writers. A proud company member of SF Eagle Players, Left Coast Theatre Company, San Francisco Playground Writer’s Pool, and a 3 Girls Brady Fellow, Kristy’s prized stage credits include readings at an HIV clinic in the Castro and a leather bar in Chelsea. She lives with her heroic social worker wife in San Francisco. She believes gay sex can change the world.

Victoria Erville, Playwright, Tell'n Tales & Roll'n Eyes

Victoria Evans Erville worked as the Arts Education Outreach Director for the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival and for the Marin Theatre Company. She also held the position of Artistic Director for the African-American Shakespeare Company and for Women’s Will Theater Company. Now a playwright, she joins 3GT as a 2019-2020 Brady Fellow. Her play The Lies That Bind was a semi-finalist in the Bay Area Playwrights Festival 2019. Her short play A Mother’s Heart, received a staged reading at the 2019 Women’s Theatre Festival of North Carolina. The Test finished second in Piano Fight’s Shortlived 8 Festival -week 8. Ms. Evans-Erville is a member of the 2019-2020 Writers Pool for Playground and the Dramatist Guild.
