Operations & Finance Director
BERNADETTE GARCIA is the Operations and Finance Director. She is a native of New Mexico with a dance career that spans 22 years and served as the Executive director of STEPS Dance Academy for over 14 years. Bernadette has proven herself a formidable force as a dancer, choreographer, producer, teacher, and community leader. Her commitment to promote the rich and colorful traditions of folklorico touched audiences with a sense of vitality and reinforced her passion for family and culture. Bernadette has promoted and fostered successful outreach programs throughout New Mexico and Mexico, developed dance curricula for students grades K-12, toured her professional dance troupes with performances at venues such as the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia, Disney World’s Epcot Center, and on the national television show Jenny Jones. Bernadette was recognized by the United States Library of Congress as a "Local Legacy" for promoting culture and heritage in the State of New Mexico. She earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting with a minor in Spanish and a Master degree in Business Administration, both from the University of New Mexico. For the past 10 years Bernadette has worked at National Laboratories within the Department of Energy complex serving the nation internationally in roles of finance, analysis and management. She is delighted to rejoin the art world and serve the community via her new role with 3Girls Theater.
