Elizabeth Gjelten is a playwright, poet, and teacher. Her full-length plays include “Hunter’s Point” (St. Boniface Church Theater, Bay Area Playwrights Festival), “What the Birds Carry” (Pear Avenue Theatre), and “Dance Lessons” (Venue 9, Working Woman Festival). She has also had several short plays and solo pieces performed around the Bay Area. Awards include Rainin Foundation’s Honorary Fellowship at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program and Theatre Bay Area’s TITAN Award. As part of her community arts work, Elizabeth was honored to be chosen as an Artist Investigator with California Shakespeare Theatre.
