The Transgender Day of Remembrance or International Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day that is held annually on the 20th November to memorialize those individuals who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. It also aims to draw attention to the violence that is carried out towards many in the transgender community.
3GT is saddened and horrified about the recent shooting at Club Q in Colorado on the evening of Saturday, November 19th, 2022. Our hearts are with the families and friends of those who were injured and with those who are no longer with us.
Initially, we were going to highlight the organization, True Colors United, as November is also National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. Homelessness disproportionally affects LGBTQ+ youth, so organizations that serve this vulnerable population are essential.
